The Gaya Tree

The Gaya Tree is a devotional healing, conscious world music group from Mangawhai, New Zealand. Their music is a fusion of various cultural musical influences including their native Maori language and Sanskrit. They perform a tranquil blend of traditional Kirtan as well as new age original music, delivering an uplifting and engaging performance.

The Gaya Tree’s creative inspiration, is the desire to bring people of all cultures together in unconditional love through music and community. They believe there is no separation between themselves and others. This is demonstrated during their performances where the audience is encouraged to participate fully without judgement of themselves or others, creating an incredible contagious energetic vibe that connects a whole crowd of people – where many people become one voice.

They have performed multiple live shows at festivals in Australia and New Zealand, with plans in place to venture further to serve up their musical love worldwide. They will be touring and performing at festivals all over the globe within the next year, as well as multiple festivals and shows in New Zealand.

Their original songs incorporate socially conscious themes, such as spirituality, love and equality. Their song Kia Maia was released for free download during New Zealand Mental Health Week, 2015.
Kia Maia means ‘courage’ in their native Maori language. In April next year they will be recording their first Album together in Bali.
