Emma Callaghan

Emma Callaghan has been teaching yoga and mindfulness for 20 years. Born in London to a white English Rose and a black Jamaican immigrant. Emma’s whakapapa means she has great interest and passion for anti-racism and decolonisation processes. During her 8 years in Aotearoa Emma opened a local community yoga studio and launched a yoga teacher training company before taking a break from teaching to raise babies and to make sense of the concerns she was having about the modern yoga industry. Emma returns to sharing yoga with a focus on trauma integration, finding the wisdom within and doing so while respecting yoga’s roots and the land we walk on. Emma’s new venture emi wellness respectfully links ancient, sacred, indigenous practices with contemporary wisdom to soothe modern life.
